| The Design of a Golf Course
Golf is always played on a golf course. Some of the earliest golf courses were made on covered sand dunes situated next to beaches. This brought about the development of seaside resorts and golf vacation spots. The development of earth moving machinery let developers make golf courses wherever they wanted.
Your typical golf course will consist of golf holes, each golf hole will be surrounded by a putting green and have a teeing area, tough, fairway and other hazards to make the game more challenging. The height of the grass in the putting green can make the hole more difficult. Most golf courses have 18 holes thought there are smaller ones of just 9 holes.
With environmental concerns growing golf course developers have much more to deal with then just designing holes. They have to be away of the amount of water the golf course uses, any fertilizers and pesticides used for plant and how they are effecting the environment and habitats surrounding the golf course. There is much more involved in developing a golf course then you may think.
